Aikido may be studied at various levels of intensity.  Many  people are happy to take the recreationally minded approach where Aikido is simply enjoyable exercise.  Others want to peel back as many layers as they can and, in the process, test their skills.  Park City Aikido welcomes both types of students realizing that a student who joins our group in the recreational mindset may very well change to a more intensive method of study at some point in the future.  We always stress to our students that Aikido should fit in with the individual's lifestyle so that it is always enjoyable.  Therefore, testing is strictly optional and is not forced upon anyone.
For those who want to test we do provide instruction for that goal.  For those who aspire to the "Dan" ranks, we remind you that there is an element of discovery that must be taken on by the student with regular  training becoming a part of each day.  Although we presently have a limited class schedule, there is ample opportunity to receive additional training.  Students of Park City Aikido all have the opportunity to attend local seminars and travel to other dojos.  It is absolutely your choice as to how much you practice and whether or not you test
