Zen and Aikido

Systema and Aikido

Breath

 Suggested Reading:

"Let Every Breath" by Vladimir Vasiliev.  This is the starter book for understanding the power of the breath for dealing with any and all fear and conflict-internal, external, spiritual and beyond.

"The Art of Peace" by Morihei Ueshiba.  This is the source document for all Aikido.  Written by the founder of Aikido, O Sensei, it is a must for all practitioners. or the martial art.  Moreover, its message of conflict resolution is one of inspiration for all.

"The Way of Aikido" by George Leonard, Sensei would be a great first book.  There are no techniques displayed; just great stories by a wonderful author.

"It's a Lot Like Dancing" by Terry Dobson is fun and a very easy read.

The story of O Sensei is well well told in "Invincible Warrior" by John Stevens

"The Philosophy of Aikido."  Also, by John Stevens

"The Way of the Peaceful Warrior" By Dan Millman.  Zen in action and a lot of fun!
